About the Artist
Born: July 24 th , 1985
Laura D'Alonzo is a professional artist who recently received her Fine Arts Degree from Pennsylvania State University. She also studied in Rome, Italy, where she continued painting while studying great works of Renaissance art and contemporary art of Rome.
Laura began drawing from the time she could hold a pencil and has continued to excel in drawing, painting, and other various art forms throughout her life. She has sold many portraits, landscapes, animals, original and abstract forms of her own. Her style reflects the influence of Renaissance/Italian art mixed with her own vibrant sense of color.
By supporting just one artist, you can contribute to the growing artistic culture that our world continually needs.
Laura D'Alonzo is by far one of the most talented painters that I have come across at Penn State University. Laura has nurtured this sense of touch and has coupled it with her own bizarre eccentric sense of place, and is really developing a language that is very much her own. She is a natural painter, and her love for the arts, especially painting and every aspect of its history is evident in her work ethic within the class. Ms. D'Alonzo is a diligent reader, has a voracious appetite for scholarly reviews of art work, art journals, and magazines. Her work is fresh, ambitious, and rambunctious; moments culled from the history of painting recycled into her own extraordinary vision. Laura has no fear in the studio, she constantly moves around with the work, drawing, painting, creating worlds that are fantastic and imaginative.
